Most teams come out of the NFL Draft feeling hopeful. You can talk yourself into loving just about every pick, whether they’re destined to succeed or fail.

Even so, some draft hauls immediately look like good ones, no sugar-coating necessary. That’s what the Steelers pulled of this year.

Pittsburgh addressed their needs with great value at almost every turn. Let’s take a look at each draftee to see how the pick grades out coming out of draft weekend.

Steelers Draft Grades: Rating every pick in the 2023 NFL Draft

Round 1, Pick 14 — Georgia OT Broderick Jones

The Steelers needed help on defense and easily could have used their first round pick there, but they decided instead to focus on helping young quarterback Kenny Pickett. Picking Broderick Jones worked out perfectly considering who they picked up later.

Jones started on a national title-winning offensive line and can line up on either the right or the left as a top-tier pass blocker. Since Pittsburgh moved up to get him, it’s a safe bet they see his future at left tackle. He’s Pickett’s new best friend.
