The Seattle Seahawks were screwed over by the officials on a critical missed pass interference call late against the Los Angeles Rams.
Do the Seahawks have much to play for? No. Does that mean they’re not trying to win? Also, no.
Seattle is playing for pride on a rare Tuesday Night game thanks to the league’s rapid COVID-19 spread. Down just a touchdown to the Rams at this point in the game, Russell Wilson tried a deep pass to DeeJay Dallas, which was knocked down by an LA defender. Yet, upon further review, Dallas was definitely interfered with before the ball arrived.

The replay thankfully does Dallas some justice, but the ruling will stay incomplete, as it’s a non-reviewable play.
Seahawks lose again: What happens to Russell Wilson?
Wilson is under contract in Seattle through 2023, with a potential out in 2022. Because of that out, Wilson’s name has been mentioned in trade rumors since last offseason.
The Seahawks quarterback played into these rumors by releasing a list of teams he’d be willing to play for via trade, which at the time included the Chicago Bears. In recent weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants have been mentioned as ideal suitors.
While it’s unclear exactly why, tension between Pete Carroll and Wilson throughout the years is an undeniable influence on the star quarterback. A subpar 2021 — now essentially guaranteed — won’t help matters.
