Ravens and Vikings could be perfect draft-day trade partners after Orlando Brown trade

Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, NFL Draft

The Baltimore Ravens could be up to something, possibly with the Minnesota Vikings.

With the Baltimore Ravens now in possession of two first-round picks after the Orlando Brown trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, could they strike another deal with the Minnesota Vikings?

Baltimore and Minnesota have traded with each other several times before, most recently by sending native Marylander Yannick Ngakoue back to the Charm City. Armed with their own first-round pick at No. 27 and the Chiefs’ at No. 31, that might be enough to entice the Vikings to move off their precious No. 14 overall pick. Baltimore could replace Brown with a tackle prospect there.

Could the Ravens and Vikings orchestrate a blockbuster draft-day trade on Thursday night?

Moving up to No. 14 would make sense for the Ravens. They need another tackle to pair opposite of Ronnie Stanley in the trenches. Getting inside the top half of the first round would put them in position to land Christian Darrisaw out of Virginia Tech, Alijah Vera-Tucker out of USC or reach for Teven Jenkins out of Oklahoma State. Vera-Tucker possesses the ability to play multiple positions.

As for the Vikings, do they really want to move back in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft? Minnesota could use more good players, but the Vikings could also use those two picks to help reposition themselves on the draft board. They would also get more compensation from the Ravens for giving up their No. 14 overall pick as well. Keep an eye on these two teams Thursday.

If Baltimore and Minnesota have struck a deal before, they could potentially strike a deal again.
