The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will enter a new era in 2020 with Tom Brady leading the charge, and he may help a few offensive weapons have breakout years.

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired the greatest quarterback of all-time this season in Tom Brady, the immediate trajectory of the franchise changed for the better. They may actually be Super Bowl contenders. To do so though, the team will look to some depth players having breakout seasons in 2020.

Brady’s presence will certainly help the offense and there are defensive players that will look to take a step forward as well. These are just five of the players that may step up for the Buccaneers in what could be a historic season.

1. Dare Ogunbowale, running back

In 2019, Dare Ogunbowale was chosen as a team captain on special teams for the Buccaneers, but in 2020 he may become a more viable weapon on offense. This will be his fourth season in the NFL, but having Brady in the mix could be huge for his game.

In his career, Ogunbowale has just 11 carries for 17 yards, all coming last season. Last year he also added 286 receiving yards too. That is the aspect of his game that could become appealing in a Brady-led offense. It is no secret that Tom likes to dink and dunk at times, relying on his running backs to also make plays in the passing game.

Starting running back Ronald Jones II can catch it out of the backfield as well, but it seems Ogunbowale may be better suited for that role and to be on the field in passing situations. His hands were one of his strengths coming out of college, and now it could pay off.
