2018 NFL Power Rankings, Week 17: Saints clinch NFC’s top seed

NFL Power Rankings

The Cowboys and Patriots are division champions. The Texans are playoff bound. And the Eagles are still in the running to defend their title.

Arizona Cardinals 3-12

Last week: L, 31-9 vs LAR
Last rank: 32nd

Recap: The Cardinals had dropped three straight to the Los Angeles Rams and been shut out in two of those games as they hosted the NFC West champions. This time around, Arizona managed to find the end zone in the first half courtesy of a Larry Fitzgerald touchdown pass to running back David Johnson. But by intermission, Steve Wilks’ team was down 21-9 and things would only get a little worse as the afternoon unfolded. But that was Arizona’s lone touchdown of the contest as the club gained just 263 total yards. The Cards have now lost four straight games to the Rams, allowing 31-plus points in each setback while being outscored a combined 130-25 in those defeats.

Next Week: The Cardinals head to the Pacific Northwest looking to avoid being swept by the Seahawks for the first time since 2014. But Big Red has also won three straight at Seattle dating back to ‘15, including a 26-24 victory in last season’s finale. Back in Week 4 at Arizona, the ‘Hawks came away with a 20-17 win.

Draft Talk: The worst offense in the NFL may have its quarterback of the future. But to say Rosen needs more in terms of a supporting cast would be an understatement. The Cardinals haven’t drafted a wide receiver in the first round since Michael Floyd in 2012. And the club could also use some help on the defensive front.
