NFL betting guide, Week 15: Back the Seahawks and the Saints

Some teams are packing it in and some are firing it up for the playoffs. That means there’s money to be made in this week’s NFL betting guide.

Week 15 of the NFL season is here and there’s nowhere left for teams to hide. It’s very obviously who’s a contender and who’s a pretender at this point. The real question from a betting perspective is which teams are still interested in trying to win games.

Fortunately, a lot of franchises are still harboring postseason hopes. That should make for a pretty competitive slate of games. There are only a few matchups that we are choosing to avoid because only one team has anything left to play for.

Keep in mind, some teams are still interested in playing the role of spoiler. Don’t underestimate the possibility of a team like the Packers giving the Bears a really hard game just due to pride. Calculating the motivation of each team involved is the biggest key to making money late in the season.

As always, we’re here to bring you the five wagers we like best. It’s not a great week for gambling, but these five matchups represent solid plays. All odds are brought to you by

5. Take the Titans -2 at the Giants

We’re not really sure that Marcus Mariota and the Titans are any good, but we’re pretty confident the Giants are not. That gives Tennessee the edge since they have to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive.

This is not a line you should play with in the slightest. It’s very likely to be a really close game until the fourth quarter. Ultimately, we just like Mariota’s chance to make the big play his team needs more than Eli Manning’s. Mariota might make it with his legs, but he’s still the better quarterback in this close matchup.

Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. can always make big plays to screw this bet up, but the smart play is to take the boring Titans to cover.
