Take a look at what the Green Bay Packers’ color rush uniforms will look like this Thursday.
For Week 11 of the 2018 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks will be taking the primetime Thursday night stage.
While the “color rush” tradition is not quite as prominent this year as it has been in recent seasons, we’ve seen a handful of teams reinvigorate it as they take the stage on Thursday Night Football. For this particular matchup, the Packers will be breaking out their color rush threads once again as they head to the northwest.
As they’ve done during color rush games of the past, Green Bay will wear an all-white uniform this Thursday.
While the upper half of this uniform won’t look any different than what the Packers normally wear on road games — yellow helmet with a white jersey — the bottom half will stand out significantly. Typically when playing on the road, the Packers wear their classic yellow pants with the white road jersey.
It’s an iconic look for one of the NFL’s most historic and iconic franchises. For this particular game, however, white pants will replace the yellow pants. Typically, white pants look just fine for most teams in this league. But for the Green Bay Packers, something about it just doesn’t feel right.
With a team that boasts one of the most iconic uniforms in the league, that regular uniform should never be tampered with. There really is no reason why the Packers should ever wear anything other than white jerseys with yellow pants on the road, and green jerseys with yellow pants at home.
It’s OK to try new things with some teams. For the Packers, these kinds of things should never change. The color rush uniform doesn’t look bad by any means. It’s just not right for the Packers.
The Seahawks are expected to wear their regular uniforms for this game. But seeing as how Seattle’s regular home uniform is navy blue jerseys with navy blue pants, they will already be in the color rush spirit.
