Fantasy Football Week 9: 5 WR sleepers to target

Fantasy Football

Are you looking for some wide receiver help heading into Week 9? If you are, here are a few suggestions.

Welcome to another week of fantasy football.

As we all know, maintaining a respectable fantasy football team is pretty much a week-to-week job. Things change every week in the fantasy universe, and it’s rare that a week goes by — especially in midseason, where we are right now — in which we don’t have to make some sort of modifications to our fantasy lineups.

That’s the beauty of the beast. As long as your team isn’t 0-8 or something like that, there is usually always something to maintain our interest.

As we head into Week 9, your fantasy team might be in need of some adjustments at the wide receiver position. If that’s the case, here are a few sleepers that could give your team a jolt in Week 9 and just might be worth targeting.

5. Kenny Golladay, Detroit Lions

Kenny Golladay’s recent fantasy numbers haven’t been much to write home about. It hasn’t been since Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers that Golladay really exploded for some serious production. In that game, he hauled in 98 receiving yards and a touchdown, which was good for 15.8 fantasy points.

Since then, however, the Lions have had a bye week and games against Miami and Seattle. In those games, Golladay notched just 37 and 12 receiving yards respectively, with no touchdowns in either game. Against the Seahawks last week, he was only targeted by quarterback Matthew Stafford one time.

But the scene has now changed in a big way in Detroit. The Lions have traded wide receiver Golden Tate to Philadelphia, which should open up the field significantly for Golladay. With one of his key targets gone, expect Stafford to start giving Golladay plenty of looks.

He might not jump off your screen or anything like that, but with Tate out of the picture, Golladay should be able to significantly improve his numbers from the previous two games.
